Tarangire Safari Lodge
The Basics:
The Tarangire Safari lodge offers two kinds of accommodation; thatched bungalows and covered semi permanent safari tents.
All the rooms run along the edge of an escarpment about 60 feet high.
There is a small pool and the food is really good.
I always make a point to stop here for lunch when I'm on safari in Tarangire.
Instead of heading right out back on safari after lunch I'll take a walk on the walkway that runs along
the escarpment or maybe rest a bit on their huge patio that sits near the edge.
Most of the time there is something going on in the river bed below; a herd of elephants walking by, vultures circling.
The Photos:

Here's the big patio where you can relax with your fruit desert and watch the view below.
At night it's a great place to sit and have a drink while listening to the sounds of the African wild.

Here's the bungalows. To the left there just beyond the tree is the edge of the escarpment.

Inside the bungalow it is surprisingly roomy.
I guess the circle shape and dome ceiling makes it feel big.

These tents less sophistacated than the ones at
Ikoma Tented Camp .
But everything you need is there; beds, private bathroom, chairs, thatched roof, solid foundation.
Notice the fire extinguisher?
There must be a rule about these because you'll see them all over the place at any lodge you stay at in Tanzania.

Here's the view from inside your tent looking out.
