Serengeti Seronera Wildlife Lodge
The Basics:
On my last visit to Tanzania I was unable able stay at the Serengeti Seronera or photograph any of the rooms because they were completely booked.
This kind of popularity probably confirms my impressions which are that this is a unique and desirable place to stay.
In the vast, mostly flat, plains of the Serengeti, you really can notice when you are elevated.
The Seronera is built on a decent sized hill that looks out over a good portion of the southern Serengeti.
It is literally built on top of and around a pile of various sizes of boulders.
If you would prefer to stay in a lodge rather than a tent camp, such as Ikoma Tent Camp,
when in the Serengeti then the Seronera Wildlife Lodge is the place for you.
The striking view alone would make it worth staying here.
The Photos:

Yes, that's a Brasilia cappuccino machine.
These guys are not messing around.

Here's the area to the side of the bar.
I liked the cave painting theme.
Behind me is the front wall of the building which is mostly glass.
The area is flooded with light during the day.

Here's that view I was talking about.
You can really see the Serengeti for miles and miles.
That hill in the distance might be as much as thirty miles away.

Did I mention that the Seronera Wildlife Lodge was built on a hill of boulders?

These are the rooms that don't look directly out onto the plains.
Still seem pretty nice, and they do at least look out to the hill behind the lodge.
