Kigongoni Lodge


The Basics:
The Kigongoni Lodge is built on the top of a large hill. The cottages that make up the rooms are all dispersed along flower lined paths that spiderweb down the side of the hill. It's one of the most beautiful and tranquil places to stay in the Arusha area. I highly recommend it.

Kigongoni is situated 45 minutes from Arusha Park. To get there you drive along the main road out of town a ways. You get to a turnoff and follow a small road into a hilly area for another 20 minutes. This road leads to a major flower production facility. You'll see enormous greenhouses along the road and in the distance. It's here that exotic african flowers are grown and then exported to Europe. Depending on the time of day you'll probably see locals walking to and from work to the greenhouses.

The rooms on the inside are about what you would expect - cottage decor and high quality furnishings.


Each cottage comes with a beautiful recessed bathtub. You can sit on the edge and relax with you feet in the water, or simply immerse yourself while the sun shines on you through the window.


The dining area is just like the cottages, only bigger. There are two fireplaces to keep things cozy when it gets cold.


The infinity pool at Kigongoni overlooks the same view that you have in each of the cottages.
