Arumeru River Lodge
The Basics:
Arumeru River Lodge is the best value lodge in the Arusha area.
It is 3 stars in quality but for a 2 star price.
Everything is high quality, smartly designed, and judiciously maintained.
The bungalows (or chalets, as they call them) are all detached two room affairs that share one wall between rooms.
The rooms are very nice and comfortable with very good beds.
There is a pool and bar, terraced dining, beautiful grounds, and a good menu.
The staff and managers are super friendly and helpful.
Sometimes there is live local music in the living room area.
To top it all off there are about half a dozen turkeys that roam the area gobbling.
I would definitely recommend staying here as my top choice when needing lodging in the Arusha area on a 2 star budget.

It's here that the groundskeepers break away a bit from the usual tropical gardening and throw in a bit of
mediterranean style cactus and succulents.
Makes me feel right at home.
All the chalets are like this.
Your view from the porch is exactly what you see in the background here to the right -
large lawns with tiled walkways connecting everything interspersed with tropical flowers and plant life.

That rug really brings the room together.
Your standard teardrop-boomerang shaped African hotel pool, complete with thatched shade umbrellas.
They really took the effort to do the important things that make the rooms comfortable, clean, and welcoming.
The bathrooms all have fairly new tile, woodwork, sinks, showers, toilets, everything.
